MONDAY, OCTOBER 7TH – NORWAY TO SWEDEN:

Not going to post today’s road report until tomorrow.  Basically because my report consists of the fact that we drove and drove and drove and drove…..18 hours total.  We departed at 11 pm and arrived a little after 5 pm.  Other than the mandatory stops the bus drivers had to make and the stop at the border for Customs, we didn’t even stop for a meal!  Nils – one of the bus drivers — left us in Oslo to go home for a few days and meet us in Stockholm. Sleeping on the hard bunk mattresses is almost impossible and everyone was looking forward to a real bed tonight.

Staffan – our tour manager for Sweden – was supposed to arrive at 5 pm but his train broke and he didn’t arrive until around 7 pm.  Hotel is really nice and in a good location.  Malmo is much bigger than I remembered, too.

Sound check tomorrow at 3:00 pm with a 7:30 pm show time.  Hope these shows will be as good as the shows in Norway!

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8TH – FIRST PERFORMANCE IN SWEDEN – MALMO TONIGHT – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY AWESOME SON CHRIS:

Was excited that I would finally have time to exercise again and had already “plotted” my path for a great jog.  Only I woke up to rain, rain, rain.  Boo!!!  But at least the hotel had a great gym.  I worked out with everything in there and then did sprints on the treadmill.  Feel so much better.

Walked over to the 7-11 to buy a hot dog “in” a bun for lunch.  Only I got lost and walked forever.  I finally gave up and bought some yogurt.  Much healthier anyway!   Kjell called as soon as I got back in my room and wanted to meet.  I told him it would take me “a while” to shower and dress.  Of course, I had 3 phone calls while I was trying to dress.  He gave up and went to his other meeting.

We all rode over for sound check at 2:45 pm and Kjell went with us for that.  We were able to talk for a while there about future tours for the Bellamys.  Sound check was over by 4:30 pm and we went back to the hotel.  Kjell and I walked next door and had a really nice meal at an Italian restaurant.  Hurriedly dressed and met everyone downstairs to go to the show at 6:45 pm.  Show started at 7:30 pm and it was a packed house.  Beautiful venue.  Reminds me of a Vegas Showroom.  Great lobby with a piano bar!

We were back at the hotel by 9:30 pm and departing at midnight for a 9+ hour drive to Stockholm.  And tomorrow is a DAY OFF!  Only full day off on the entire tour!!!!
