SATURDAY, MARCH 18TH, 2023 – PERFORMANCE AT CAMP HUMPHREYS, SOUTH KOREA:

Had a 10 am lobby call to drive to Camp Humphreys.  It took about 40 minutes because of road construction but at least there wasn’t a long delay at the gate.   Brian – our host at Camp Humphreys – met us with a bus to drive to his base.  He sent a cargo van earlier in the day although it definitely was not necessary. All they picked up was our equipment that we brought with us which would have easily fit in the bays underneath the bus.

I’ve had entertainers perform in this venue – The Flight Line Club – many times.  It’s a really great venue. We have a totally different production company this year but it’s someone that I have worked with for decades.  They had everything set up and waiting for us.  Doug – who I’ve worked with for years – was also there waiting for us.

I took the girls to the massive base exchange – largest Army Exchange in the World – and we “shopped” for about 1 ½ hours while the guys got everything set up at the stage.  I found so many things that Zac and Zoe requested!

We headed back to lodging and after taking care of getting everyone checked in for the Korean Air flight tomorrow, I walked over to the Osan Exchange and found more things for Zac and Zoe.  Was able to work for about one hour before departing to the show at 6:15 pm.  Show doesn’t start until 8 pm but we never know what is going to happen with traffic!

The club was packed and everyone was having a great time.  Once again, Runaway June had a fabulous show.  Not only do they have a wonderful show but they are beautiful people – inside and out. And their musicians are stellar as well.  Club said the final count was 155 but it sure looked like more than that!

The Production Company was great.  No one complained and everyone commented that this was the best show they had in Korea as far as production.

The autograph line was especially rowdy tonight.  I was taking coats, sweaters, and drinks away from everyone and placing on a table for them to pick up after they had their photo taken. One lady in the front of the line argued with that she didn’t want to give me her drink.  I left her holding it while I went to check on the girls and when I came back, I asked her to please give me the drink so she could have her photo taken.  She was unsteady enough that she spilled most of it on my pants as she handed it to me.  Point made – that’s why I take the drinks until after the photo.  LOL.

Brian, Doug, Tina and Kim were great “hosts” at Humphreys. It took us over an hour to drive from Osan to Humphreys tonight and there was no traffic.  Then it took less than 30 minutes to drive back tonight after the show.  Strange.  Tomorrow is our “travel day” to Yokota Air Base.  Looking forward to seeing all my friends there again.
