WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22ND, 2023 – PERFORMANCE AT YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE:

One of our hosts – Jackie – met us with a bus from Yokosuka and we departed lodging at 10:00 am today for the 1 ½ hour drive to Yokosuka.  At least that’s how far we “thought” Yokosuka would be from Yokota.  Turns out, it was 2 hours and 15 minutes.  We were late going to lunch and arriving at the venue for sound check.

The base hosted our lunch at the Officer’s club which was so nice and unexpected.  The food was really good there as well.  I had a salad that had a blueberry vinegarette dressing that was awesome.  It really wasn’t a problem to arrive late for sound check because Yoshi and his crew are handling production at all 3 mainland Japan shows and they are awesome!

Gregg (our other host) made the decision to move the concert indoors because weather prediction was calling for rain today.  Of course, once he moved it indoors, the weather was beautiful all day and evening.  We’re now performing in a nice theater.

Sound check went smoothly and the girls signed all the caps and autograph cards after they finished.  Then everyone went their separate ways and I think most of them walked off base to look around and “shop”.

We had another great show with lots of “families” with children in attendance.  I think almost everyone at the show was in line for the M&G after the show. It was really a great evening.  We still have 3 more shows – all outdoor – left on the tour.

Gregg and Jackie were wonderful hosts – just like everyone we have worked with on this tour.  Leaving for Camp Zama at 10 am tomorrow.
