SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6TH – PERFORMANCE IN TRONDHEIM:

Got In my bunk at 12:30 am then woke up at 1:30 am thinking it was time to get up.  Tried to go back to sleep but tossed and turned until 3:30 am when I got up again.  But, when I went back to the bunk that time, I slept for 5 hours!   I sort of remember the bus backing up and parking but I think that must have been at around 7:30 am.  My alarm went off at 8:30 am and when I got up, no one was in the Lounge.  I had a text from the bus drivers telling me the name of the hotel where they were staying and where our hotel was located.

I walked down the block to our hotel and talked to the Super nice lady at the registration desk.  She was able to give me, Howard and David a room immediately and gave all but two of the guys a room as well.  I had a choice of accepting the rooms that were ready or waiting for the “Superior” rooms that had been booked.  Again, since we are not staying overnight, I chose to take whatever rooms were available.

Our drivers had already taken our luggage inside the hotel and stored it for us.   I got on the bus and sent everyone a message telling them their room keys were on the table and where the hotel was located.  Howard and David got up immediately and we all 3 walked back to the hotel, collected our luggage from storage and put it in our room.  Then we all met downstairs for breakfast.  It was a really great breakfast bar with lots of options including gluten-free bread and decaf coffee for me.

I went to my room and sorted out all my things for tonight for the 18-22 hour bus ride to Sweden.  I also asked the front desk about a pharmacy – not expecting anything to be open.  But SURPRISE, there was one only a 10 minute walk from the hotel that is open until midnight.   I showered and worked for a while and then it was time to go to sound check.  The artist entrance to the venue is just down the hallway from the registration desk…so convenient….and the bus is parked right outside!  The venue is breath-taking.  Check out my Facebook photos.  And, all the staff are super nice.   I did what I needed to do and then left in search of the Pharmacy.  It was a beautiful walk – rather COLD – but scenery was beautiful.  I haven’t been here in several years and forgot how pretty Trondheim is.  It is also on the “cruise ship” stop.  I easily found the Pharmacy and learned that the patches for motion sickness require a prescription.  But, they had some tiny tablets that I was told work great so I got a box of those.

This is a Clarion Hotel and all those hotels not only have a great free breakfast bar but also you can make “pancakes” (crepes) in the lobby from 3 pm until 6 pm and a great dinner buffet is served (like last night) from 6:00-9:00.  I talked them into keeping it open again until 9:15 pm.  The guys can walk over, fix a “to go” plate and eat before we depart for Sweden.  The venue is also ordering pizza for them for after show food.

While David and I were standing in the lobby waiting for Howard, a nice man walked up and said that he “had breakfast” with us this morning.  He asked the front desk what was “going on” tonight and she told him about the concert.  He purchased the LAST TWO TICKETS to the show tonight.  He and his wife were really excited!

Over 100 “kids” were checking in as we tried to squeeze past everyone and get to the artist entrance.  I was told the hotel has 3 huge groups staying here tonight.  We finally made it upstairs and the show started promptly at 7 pm.  Another great show and great audience and great venue staff.  This is the end of our Norway tour and I don’t think it could have been any more successful!

Heading to the bus for 11 pm departure now.  No idea what time we will arrive Sweden!
